From: "Angela Ferguson" >Why did you want to put up a site (or page) devoted to something about >Degrassi? When I first discovered the web, Degrassi was one of the first subjects I searched for, through my little Mosaic browser. I came up blank. Less than a year later there were two Degrassi sites on the web (that I could find) and one of them was mine. I'd wanted to be able to read about Degrassi, and I figured other people did too. I guess I wanted to fill what I saw as a niche - and hopefully raise a worldwide awareness of a rare high-quality teenage drama. >When did you come up with the idea to have a Degrassi site? Ooooh. When . . . when . . . Ahhh, I think it would have been in 1994 or 95. End of high school, start of university. >How did you finally decide to put it up? The first evolution of my Degrassi pages were posted on the server of my first ISP, a teeny little place called aardvark.au. soon after i discovered Alphalink, which is where it and future evolutions reside. Posting the page was not a big decision. I enjoyed learning HTML - didn't have WYSIWYG HTML apps back then, it was all in text. I did it for fun. And I enjoyed the research. >How has it evolved? My Degrassi site has had three major evolutions. The first site was a single loooong page, with very few graphics. It was basically a cast list and a patchy episode guide, with a preamble around what I thought of the show. The second evolution branched into multiple pages, there were more graphics and some comments on the movie. The final evolution was probably the biggest and it's what you'll find now. The page is not updated anymore. Maybe one day I'll get back into it, but I don't feel as compelled to anymore - there are others filling the niche. You're reading this on the page of the best niche filler! >Have you gotten emails from Degrassi cast and crew? Yes. I can't remember all of them, but foremost in my mind are the emails I exchanged with Deborah Lobban (Doris Bell), Roger Montgomery (Mr Garcia) and Dan Woods (Mr Raditch). I don't have my email here, so I can't check the others. I've also recieved countless emails from Degrassi enthusiasts - more in my early days then now. >Any future plans for your Degrassi site? Currently no. However filling in this has got me thinking I'd like to get my hands dirty again. I guess you'll just have to wait and see.
